With Children in Need in full swing one specialist autism school enjoyed a topical visit from a furry friend.

Children in Need mascot Pudsey took time out from his busy schedule to visit students and staff at Autism East Midland’s Sutherland House School yesterday.

The yellow icon joined the morning assembly at the Nottingham City Centre school to the excited call of students and danced and waved his way through class presentations.

Headteacher and seasoned bear interpreter Adrian Sugden said: “Pudsey managed to have his photo taken with all the children and he told me later he would cherish his visit and had a brilliant time”.
